Meet Your Therapist
It has always been John’s desire to create an environment where he can service the needs of his community by providing a safe space for emotional healing. He values creating the conditions for you to explore the many layers of your lived experience, collaboratively identify the sources of your distress, and emerge from your suffering with peace of mind.
John is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). He has been working in the field of counseling and psychology for seven years and earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University where he now teaches as an instructor of psychology and counseling. As a member of the Association of Contextual Behavioral Science, John recognizes the unique role that context plays in shaping our inner world, and how these experiences impact our behavior and the development of mental health concerns. Because of this, John favors an Acceptance and Commitment perspective that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change to help clients move towards their chosen values. John works with adults with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
